6-Weeks Postpartum. Now What?

This is me 6 weeks postpartum. My body is softer and my skin is looser; sure, I'm excited to get back to my fitness routine, but I just made a beautiful little human which took 39 weeks to bake, so I'm in no rush whatsoever. Although this week my OB told me my "recovery was quick" and that I was allowed to get back to the gym, I am still following my own advice about taking it slow. Here are some tips to help you ease back into it too.

The Post-Baby Body Problem Moms Don’t Talk About, But Should

This article I recently wrote was just featured on the Not So Mumsy Blog, but it's an important topic so I felt inclined to share it on my own blog too! For all you mamas, please (please) take the time to read this article.

The one concern I hear most about revolves around the tummy area. Mothers often ask, “why do I still look 6 months pregnant?” or “I have a pooch that won’t go away” or “I just want my pre-baby tummy back”. The mommy tummy is actually a ‘thing’ and is likely a result of a condition called Diastasis Recti Abdominis.

How To Ditch Weekend Overeating

The weekend’s coming to an end and I’m sure you enjoyed a lot of extra servings of ‘something something’ that might have you feeling slightly slower than usual on a Sunday evening. Healthy Clean Hands = Healthy YOU!

It’s that time of the year when my mini is coming home every other week with a dreadful sniffle or nasty cough. I’ve made hand washing a big deal in our household because so many viruses can be carried via hands, ranging from the common cold virus to more serious ones. Germs are no joke and my daughter, like every toddler, gets her hands into and onto everything … from workout equipment at our gym to the magazines at our local coffee shop. I’ve emphasized how important it is to get into the healthy habit of washing her hands for more than 20 seconds.

Meditation for the Manic Mama

It’s easy to get caught up in everyday mom life and sitting in silence to meditate sounds like a far-fetched dream. Well mamas, that’s where I was wrong.  Meditation is very much an important part of your health and wellness journey.
