Mommy and Me: The Best Twinning Outfits

During these uncertain times when we are spending more hours indoors, we obviously haven’t had any opportunities to head out in our typical mommy and me twinning outfits. Not gonna lie, I kind of miss it and that’s why I decided to put this post together to share some of my fave matchy-matchy ‘fits and where you can buy them (or something very similar). I think that I’ll continue to share these type of posts because you wouldn’t believe how many moms ask where to find good twinning apparel!

This is the first post of this series, so here you go:

Leopard For The Win

This is a mix and match of different leopard pieces from various stores that I love. Without being perfectly matching, this trio is one of my faves and always eye catching. I’m wearing an old swim suit from Forever 21 and Harper is wearing a UPF 50+ swimsuit by designer Beach + Bandits that I purchased from a local online shop, Minimono.ca. Baby Noa is rocking a two-piece from one of my fave Mommy and Mini collections, Kortni Jeane. This print is sold out, but they have tons of other cute pieces!! Any leopard combo is a must for vacation!

Babes + Bodysuits

These mommy and me bodysuits (or swimsuits) are so versatile and always a show stopper! You can find a similar sets online at Pat Pat. Rock them with jeans or while away on vacation (hopefully we can start revisiting travel plans soon).

Tee & Denim Mommy Uniform

Remember that ‘mommy and me’ outfits don’t have to be perfectly matched, so have fun with it and try and use what you already have in your closet. My go-to for jeans are usually Levis or Top Shop and for kids, I usually shop at Zara. These tees are also from Zara, which I find are usually inexpensive (wait for the sale) and prints are always fun! Psst … their head wraps are from a Canadian online store Knotty Tot.

Fun with Faux

Faux fur and teddy jackets never get old! You can pair these jackets with jeans or pleather leggings and you and your mini will look cute as ever! You can find faux fur jackets just about everywhere! Try not to spend a pretty penny, but if you’re willing the one I love is here. Otherwise, save your money and find one at Winners!

Leggings for Days

So many people have asked about these particular leggings and they are nearly 3 years old from ALALA. Sadly, they no longer produce kids leggings, but you can find a ton of mommy and me matching workout sets at Jill Yoga or various online shops like Katia Yoga. I always say go for funky designs that are unique and can’t be found at any retail store in the mall! PS - our hats are from Lindo F.

Spotted: Matching Mother and Daughters

This is such a fun matching set because polka dots are playful and look cute on just about anyone. Plus, they are good luck (so my mom says). If you’re looking for kids pleather leggings, try minimono online and pair them with other polka dot pieces, which can be found just about anywhere!

All White Everything

The easy way to twin with the family is to keep it simple and go all-white-everything. These particular tees are from Old Navy - they have a huge selection of mommy and mini coordinated outfits (here), so be sure to check them out. Plus, the price is always affordable!

Stripes On Stripes On Stripes

If you want to twin with your mini, stripes are a fast fix! You can find stripe tees or dresses everywhere. They never go out of style! Little Mia Bella is a great online shop that offers tons of variety and lots of striped options for Mommy and kiddies!

All Day PJ Partay

When in doubt, go for PJs! Matching family pjs are still all the rage and are especially popular during the holidays! Some of my favourite lines include: This is J , Smash+Tess, and Roots (which we are wearing here while I am about 7 months pregnant with Noa).

Plaid For All Seasons

Another quick way to get matchy-matchy with your mini is to pull out the good ol’ plaid! You don’t always have to have the same color scheme, but I do find it’s a bit easier on the eyes. My plaid dress is from Aritzia from a few years ago or you can opt for this other similar style which I love. For kids, try this cute option or even hit up H&M and I’m sure you’ll find a plaid button up (try the boys section)!

Trick or Treat

Halloween is always the best when you do it up Mommy and Me style! In my opinion, the easiest costume is one you can pull together yourself without having to spend a ton of cash. The 80’s workout duo is a fave for a mother-daughter costume. Everything we are wearing is something we previously owned or purchased from the dollar store or Value Village. We didn’t spend over $20 total!

Totes-ally Twinning

If you want to add a little extra twinning to your already matching outfit, the way to do it is with a tote or a hair piece. Pictured here we are sporting totes from 24 Carrot Co. They are the cutest!! Add another touch of twinning by matching your shoes with your mini! I’m wearing adult Stan Smiths and Harper is wearing a pair too!
