5 Photography Tips For Social Media Success

BY the creative Co.

To celebrate the World Photography Day which is on August 19th, here are five photography tips for social media success that you should consider every time you make a post online!

  1. Framing and Composition

This is a great tip to help your photos look more professional. Rather than placing the subject in the center, try to shoot with the subject in the left or right of the frame. This helps the viewer see the photo more symmetrical!

  2. Resolution

Over-editing photos can reduce the quality. Try keeping them as high-quality as possible and only edit what’s necessary (more exposure and contrast/less saturation).

  3. Effective Editing

To make your images look brighter and stand out from the rest, try the following:

  • Adjust your photo’s shadows and highlights.

  • Slightly increase the vibrance, not the saturation, when trying to make the image more colorful.

  • Crop your image to achieve the rule of thirds, and straighten the alignment so your horizon lines aren’t crooked.

4. Hashtags & Sharing

Hashtags are a great way to attract new people to your profile and to gain new followers. Try using relevant hashtags to make sure you’re targeting your niche.

5. UPSCALING LOW QUALITY IMAGES

If a photo is already in a low resolution (for example, was taken on an old camera or over edited), you can try using apps which help upscale photo quality. Although most of them simply increase sharpness, they do at times help to improve photo quality and make the content look better overall.
