How I Take Care of My Inside & Out

There is so much talk about gut health and I know there is a lot of info out there. The question is, ‘where do you start?’

I’ve always been one to set new goals every season and with a new routine, I believe it always starts from the inside. I talk a lot about mental health, but what about gut health? I’ve been learning that so many things can impact our gut health from stress and movement to the food we put in our bodies. I wanted to share my story about how simple gut-healthy habits in the kitchen has helped me feel more aligned with myself and ready to take on the new goals I set out for myself.

Take Care of What’s Inside

As I started to learn more about gut health, I realized like everyone else that all the information could be overwhelming. For this reason, I thought I would focus primarily on gut-friendly food because this is how I started. I made small and simple adjustments to my eating routine to help support my gut health. I started including more fermented foods like kimchi, honey and yogurt into my regime. Activia probiotic yogurt has been on my grocery list every week now! I love every flavour and it includes gut-friendly probiotics!

For me, Activia has been easy to incorporate into my meal plan at home. Whether it is as a perfectly portioned snack or eaten as a hearty yogurt bowl, it has been a delicious way to help support my gut health. You can even create simple dips with plain Activia for your veggies as an easy snack for the whole family. My favourite gut-friendly recipe to date is Blueberry Pancakes topped with Activia No Sugar Added Probiotic Yogurt.

I highly recommend this recipe – it does not disappoint!

Start Small, Win Big

While there is so much more I didn’t touch on in this post, I can tell you from experience that just starting small has made a difference to how I feel. As I continue to prioritize my digestive well being and include gut-friendly foods into my diet in combination with regular exercise, I know that over time I will feel better on the inside which will help me be more confident and ready to hit my goals!
